Rewards for tips that make a difference
Whistle42 rewards whistleblowers whose information helps uncover fraud, money laundering and compliance failures. Rewards are granted in R42, step by step as your tip proves its value, and you can claim them without revealing who you are.
How R42 rewards work
Every tip is pre-screened by an AI system and reviewed by our editors. People decide whether and how we pursue it.
When our editors take up your tip, they reserve an R42 amount for your case. You see it in your mailbox as “under review”.
Once we have checked your information, the editors release the reward. It now shows as “ready to redeem”.
Create a one-time code in your case mailbox and enter it at whistle42.com/tip/redeem while logged in to a Whistle42 account.
When rewards are granted
Rewards build up as your tip moves forward. One case can earn rewards at several stages.
A specific, well-documented tip with new information can be rewarded on arrival.
Our desk takes up your tip and starts investigating.
Your information contributes to a published investigation or a referral to regulators.
You answer our follow-up questions with new information or documents.
What makes a tip valuable
- New information: facts that have not been published before
- Evidence: documents, screenshots, emails, transaction or wallet IDs
- First-hand knowledge: you saw it yourself, at work, as a partner or as a customer
- Public interest: many people affected, large sums, regulated firms involved
- Cooperation: you answer our questions in your case mailbox
When there is no reward
- The information only repeats what is already public
- Someone else reported the same facts first; we reward the first tip that adds something new
- The tip contains extortion, payment demands or threats
- Documents are fabricated or manipulated
- The tip tries to manipulate our assessment
- It concerns a private dispute without public interest
- The material is a state secret or was obtained in a way that puts others at serious risk
Claiming your reward without revealing who you are
Your case is anonymous. To receive R42, you redeem your code with a Whistle42 account. You can create that account with a pseudonym and an email address that does not identify you.
- Each redemption code works once; creating a new code cancels the old one
- Released R42 stay in your case until you redeem them
- Each account can redeem up to a monthly limit
R42 are reward points credited to your Whistle42 account. They are not money and not an investment, and there is no legal claim to them.
We are working on an on-chain version of R42. This page makes no offer of a crypto-asset. Details will only be published together with the legally required information.
Questions about R42
Do I have to reveal my identity to get a reward?
No. Your case stays anonymous. You only need a Whistle42 account to redeem, and it can use a pseudonym.
How much will I receive?
That depends on the stage your case reaches and on how specific, new and significant your information is. The reward table will show the amounts per stage.
How long does it take?
Checking information takes time, often weeks and sometimes months. Your case mailbox always shows the current state.
Several people reported the same thing. Who is rewarded?
The first tip that brings new information. Later tips can still be rewarded if they add something substantial.
I lost my case number or passphrase. Can I still get my reward?
Unfortunately not. We cannot recover them, and rewards cannot be moved to another case. Please keep both in a safe place.
Do I have to pay tax on rewards?
That depends on the law of your country. We cannot give tax or legal advice.
